attachment-focused therapy for couples and individuals in asheville, nc
individual counseling // online and in-person therapy in asheville and across north carolina
you’re fine. no really! I work with folks who know how to get things done, always follow through, are fiercely independent…and rarely consider themselves. my clients are committed to figuring out this relationship stuff, often reading the latest book or sharing the recent articles with their partner or family to help fix whatever is going on for them. and you…. well, you’re fine. you are kind and forgiving, dedicated to making the world better for the people you love.
and… maybe you’re starting to wonder if you’re not actually fine.
my clients often begin therapy when they can no longer ignore that they want more connection, fun, spontaneity, boundaries, respect, and balance. maybe you want people to start showing up for you, but are terrified to ask for help. you’re at a loss.
together, we’ll figure out how to step out of this pattern so you can start taking care/showing up for yourself. whether you’re experiencing the onset of health issues, reassessing one-sided relationships, or just want this next job/chapter/relationship to be different this time, we’ll lean towards taking up a little more space and living a bit more authentically.
i also help parents who feel lost in knowing how to be in a relationship with or support their teen or young adult.
couples therapy / parenting support / co-parenting support
you used to feel emotionally connected to one another, but somewhere between piles of dirty diapers and paying the bills, you became disconnected. you feel more like roommates, and the only passion you ever feel is the anger, resentment, and anxiety that comes up during arguments over differing parenting styles, logistics, or chores.
i work with couples who are motivated to be in counseling, fearful of the long-term impact that conflict and disconnect will have on their partnership or children. whether it’s navigating differing parenting styles, learning to speak the same language as your partner, or exploring an equitable distribution of labor, we’ll cultivate understanding and connection through the lens of attachment, curiosity, and accountability.
together, we'll review this couples counseling agreement at our first session. you can read about our no secrets policy and the contraindications to therapy here.

couples counseling for neurodivergent couples
maybe previous couples counseling hasn’t been helpful for you and your partner. the interventions and approaches your therapist has suggested just haven’t quite hit the mark or felt accessible to you and neurodivergent brain(s).
i specialize in working with neurodivergent couples, where one or both partners are autistic or have adhd. individual therapy isn’t ‘one size fits all,’ and couples counseling shouldn’t be, either. i help partners understand their own brain, their partner’s brain, and the unique obstacles you may be facing regarding communication, desire, or being on the same wavelength.
