our therapists provide the following in-person mental health services in Asheville, NC and surrounding areas. we provide online counseling across north carolina, currently with clients in charlotte, raleigh-durham, boone, and more. three of our therapists also provide online therapy to clients in south carolina.

individual therapy (relationship focused counseling)
all of our therapists provide individual therapy to help people build healthier relationships, whether that’s with a romantic partner(s), co-workers, family, or the most important relationship - the one with themselves. all clinicians are equipped to support folks wanting to break free of codependency.
kristen goossens and lindsey brock specialize in ethical nonmonogamy and polyamory. all of our therapists are lgbtq+ affirming.

therapy for anxiety and depression
all of our therapists are highly experienced in working with anxiety and depression. many of our clients come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of overthinking, or dealing with low mood, burnout, or panic. we offer therapy for anxiety and depression in asheville, nc and work with clients ages 12+ navigating the stress of daily life. different clinicians use different approaches, including mindfulness, emdr, eft, ifs, music therapy, and others, to help clients find ways to feel more steady, clear, and in control.

all of our therapists work with neurodivergent folks in asheville and virtually across north carolina. specifically, shelby howell specializes in therapy for autistic teens and adults; kristen goossens and becky singer specialize in adhd; alice berry often works with neurodivergent and hsp clients; andrea james works with many adhd clients; and lindsey brock works with many adhd, gifted, and autistic clients.

being a teenager right now can feel like a lot- pressure at school, shifting friendships, changing family dynamics, and a constant sense of being “on.” some teens shut down, others push back, and many are dealing with anxiety, lower moods, and knowing who they are. shelby howell, andrea james, and kristen goossens all work with tweens and teens to help them make sense of this tough chapter.

substance use support
many of our therapists are equipped to support clients around substance use. becky singer and lindsey brock have a history of working in residential or detox crisis-related facilities and are experienced in supporting folks who are sober curious or have established a few months of sobriety. we are not the best fit when you are seeking substance use-specific support as the primary reason for therapy, or when you’re trying to navigate early recovery with a substance abuse specialist. if you are uncertain about whether you’re a fit, reach out to lindsey and she will help link you to the best therapist — whether that’s in this practice or in the greater community.

before lindsey’s adventure as the breakup therapist, she was the owner of 828 counseling-therapy for college students and young adults.
our team shares the same passion for providing counseling tailored specifically for college students and young adults in asheville, swannanoa, Mars Hill, and weaverville, and virtually all across north carolina. we’re lucky to support students from unca, warren wilson, mars hill university, lenoir-rhyne university, western carolina university, appalachain state, uncc, wake forest university, duke university, and unc chapel-hill.
kristen goossens provides therapy for teenagers aged 13+, and andrea james provides therapy for teenagers age 13+.
